The Mexican government has issued a tropical storm warning for Cabo San Lucas to about Magdalena Bay, including portions of the peninsula's eastern shore.
Juliette is not predicted to attain hurricane status, but will maintain storm winds through Thursday morning as it turns toward the west and weakens.
The storm is likely to result in port closures in Cabo San Lucas, which is at Baja California's tip.
On Wednesday afternoon Juliette boasted 45-mph winds as it traveled rapidly toward the southern tip of the peninsula.
The storm is expected to pass over the region Wednesday night, into Thursday.
