There are more ways than one to snag a giant tarpon, apparently.
But using a rod and reel has to be safer than the dangling-arm method employed by the man in the video footage.
This crazy event occurred in Islamadora, Fla. The man, identified as Ryan Reynolds, is shown wrestling with what appears to be a large tarpon that had latched onto his arm. If the footage is genuine, he jams his other arm into the gill plate for a two-armed grip.
The fish nearly drags Reynolds into the water but he ends up with the upper hand. However, watch the footage and see how the fish regains its freedom.
Tarpon are known, in some places where humans throw them food, to hang out near docks. Robbie's Pier is one such location.
It is real, to a degree. The footage is not altered, but the fish did not "latch on". I grew up down here and even stayed on a house boat in this marina. The guy grabbed on and held to make it look crazy. These fish jump high for the fish we are feeding them, but slide right back down. The most you will get is similar to razor burn. I hope this guy was kicked off the dock for being cruel.

This is fake. It is at Robbies in Islamorada ,Fl were you can feed the tarpon. This guy shoves his arm down the fishes throat, pulls it out and puts in his other hand.He was pulling him out the whole time. That's mean to the fish and could harm him. Big Jerk!
