Here's a bizarre story that might amuse those who oppose hunting and trapping, and believe strongly in karma.
It involves a man in Redfield, Iowa, who is recovering from two gunshot wounds inflicted by the 22-caliber handgun he was using Saturday to try to shoot a raccoon that had wandered into one of his live traps.
When Larry Godwin, 68, tried shooting the animal the bullet ricocheted off the trap and struck him in the lower abdomen.
Godwin then dropped the handgun and it fired again, striking him in the same area.
The Associates Press reports that the wounds are not believed to be life-threatening, but it remains unclear what became of the raccoon.
