It remains to be seen whether today will be as wild on the weather front as it was Tuesday, but the ocean is again pulsing with large westerly swells and winds are expected to increase throughout the day.
As of 10:30 a.m. a southeast wind of about 15 knots prevailed near my home in Redondo Beach. I took the accompanying photos from inside King Harbor and the sight reminded me of the El Nino winter of 1987-88, when much larger waves were hurling boulders from the break-wall across the marina. How wild will today be on the water? The National Weather Service has issued a storm warning for 1-7 p.m. in the inner-coastal waters. Such warnings are only issued when wind speeds are expected to surpass 48 knots. Hazardous seas are in the forecast along the coast. As for tornadoes and water spouts, we'll just have to wait and see.
